Spiced Pear Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

3 TB butter

3 Pears, sliced thinly

1/2 tsp Allspice

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

2 TB Sugar, more for less sweet fruit

Sliced or grated Cheese (whatever you have available, I used Colby and Mexican Blend)

Sliced Bread, (I’m using 12 grain bread)

Your Favorite Jam (Strawberry used here)

Directions:

1.) Melt butter on medium high heat in non stick skillet.

2.) Add pears and cook for 1-2 minutes, and then add your spices. Cook for 2 minutes longer or until the fruit has softened and began to turn a golden brown.

3.) In another skillet, melt 2 TB of butter, and place two slices of bread in your skillet. As the bread is toasting, add sliced cheese, a layer of spiced pears, and another layer of cheese on top of the pears. Top with another slice of buttered bread, with the butter facing outward.

4.) Once the bottom slice of bread has become toasted, carefully flip over sandwich and continue to cook until desired toastyness has been achieved.

5.) Top with a generous slather of jam. Enjoy!
