I’ve been waffling back and forth on whether or not I should tell you to make this sandwich.
It’s like my first boyfriend type of wondering if I should tell you or not. Like how much I loved him, and thought he was so handsome, smart, athletic, and AMAZING. . .and then when I introduced him to my family and friends, all they could say was “meh”.
Which he was. TOTALLY “MEH.” But I was too young and stupid to see that. He was my first, and I was BLIND.
But, this is not my first sandwich.
I’ve had many, many, many sandwiches during my 40 years here on Earth. Some might even say I’m a sandwich whore. I’ll admit it. I’m not ashamed. I eat a sandwich on white bread, rye, and even low carb loaf. Ain’t no shame in my game.
And unlike my previous boyfriend, I have confidence in this whopper of a sammie.
At first, it doesn’t seem amazing, but really the AVOCADO just brings it to a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL, and bacon. . .well . . .just bacon. And you really don’t even need the mayo because the avocado is so slammin’, but if you dare trust me on this. . .add it anyway. . .and you will be lifted to heights not yet seen.
And finally, any bread will do. BUT, in my most humble opinion, sourdough might just make your toes curl. . .in all the best ways.
This is not really a recipe, just a type of Assembly Direction.

2 slices sourdough (or your favorite bread)
Avocado, cut into slices
Bacon (I buy pre-cooked)
Iceberg Lettuce Leaves
Tomato slices, seeds removed
Deli sliced Honey Ham
Muenster Cheese Slices
- Slather one side of both pieces of bread with mayonnaise.
- Lay both slices of bread, mayo side up.
- Layer ingredients in this order, avocado, bacon, lettuce leaves, tomato slices, ham, and cheese.
- Place second slice of bread on top, with mayo side down. Enjoy!
