Mango and Blueberry Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon & What To Expect When Your Expecting: A Movie Review!

Well, I can tell you what I wasn’t expecting.
To like this movie, that’s what.

What is that saying? Too many chickens in the coop. All trying to rule the roost. . . .Or be bossy. . .Or steal the limelight. . . ..I’m not sure, but you know what I mean.

Too many mega stars. . .in one location, can make me a little nervous. . .

Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Chris Rock,  Dennis Quaid, and Matthew Morrison. . . . . . . .I can happily report,  ALL played nice.  Stellar in fact.  They done good. They were VERY Funny, charming, witty, and inappropriate in all the right ways.

The basic premise of the movie was inspired by the book of the same name, where 5 couples whose lives intersect (although barely) all find themselves in the same predicament. . . . .they are expecting a baby.

Couple #1
Played by Jennifer Lopez and Rodgrigo Santoro.
She’s a photographer who loses her job, and he’s a dad to be whose scared out of his whits.

He joins a Daddy’s group, led by Chris Rock, to try and figure parenthood out.  They totally keep it real.

Together they are cute, a little nutty, and scared. They are getting ready to adopt a baby from Ethiopia.

Couple #2
Played by Anna Kendrick and Chase Crawford
She owns a Food Service Truck that sells cheesy sandwiches. He owns a Food Service Truck that sells pork sandwiches. They dated in high school, and reconnect again AND GUESS WHAT. She gets preggars. Only the ending is not what you think. . . .

Couple #3
Played by  Elizabeth Banks and Bill Falcone
She is a budding businesswoman with a Baby Store and a New book. He is a cute and lovable Dentist. They’ve been trying to have a baby for 2 years with no luck. And what do you know, when they stop trying and let loose, SHE GETS PREGNANT. And it’s not what she expected. . .tooting all the time, fat feet, and hormones, all throw this chic for a loop.

Couple #4
Played by  Brooklyn Decker and Dennis Quaid.
Theirs is a May December Romance. She’s a trophy wife, and he’s an old RICH Alpha-Dad. They are pregnant with twins and completely hilarious.

Couple #5
Played by Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison
She’s a reality show fitness instructor, and quite the bossy pants. He’s a reality show dance instructor, who is as sweet and charming as can be. The hook up on their version of Dancing With The Stars, and major life changes ensue.

The movie was very cute, unpredictable, and at times had me laughing out loud with belly pains.
It won’t solve world peace, but it’ll make you laugh.

Definitely worth the cost of going to the movies. Don’t wait for this one to come out on DVD. See it now.

AND NOW. . . . .
for dinner.
or lunch.
or breakfast for that matter.

In the movie, the Food Truck Couple are rivals, competing for business. Rosie (Anna Kendrick) tries stealing business away from  Marco (Chace Crawford) by combining her cheesy sandwiches with fruit and bacon.

Bacon.

And more bacon.
I gotta tell you, that’s a win, win in my book.
I made this sandwich which serves 8, and gave it to my four little girls. They ate every morsel, leaving nothing left over.

Mixing grilled cheese with sweet mango and blueberries and topping it off with bacon is genius.
Genius, I say.
