I don’t have anything silly to say today.
No funny stories or crazy shenanigans.
Today my brain is wrapped all around my four-year old little girl.
I told her, tomorrow is your very special day.
“You get to wake up and wear your pajamas to the doctor. If you want, you can bring your teddy bear and favorite blanket. They’ll give you sleepy medicine and when you wake up, we’ll go home, you get to watch whatever you want on TV and I’ll make the couch super comfy for you. If you want ice cream for dinner, YOU CAN HAVE IT! AND…… you get to sleep with Mommy and Daddy. I won’t leave you for a single moment that your awake. I’ll watch TV with you, and do puzzles, whatever. I’ll just stay by your side.”
And her eyes lit up.
She smiled and said she couldn’t wait. Then she kissed me and whispered, “I love you.”
Honestly, it’s not a big deal.
Phoebe had a hernia when she was a baby, which resulted in a cute but rather large belly button.
Tomorrow we are getting it fixed.
The doctor said she’ll be back to normal the next day.
No biggie.
Except my stomach is in total knots.

So just in case you wanted to know…….
We get to the hospital at 5:00am.
Surgery around 7:00am.
It should take 30-40 minutes.
We will get to take her home sometime later in the day.
The doctor has performed the surgery a million times.
And I asked him a million ridiculous questions.
I plan on eating whatever I want to occupy my time and pretending to my husband that I’m not scared senseless.
When we get home I’m going to show her these Easter baskets and eggs her sisters and I made for her, and fill them with treats to let her know that she is the center of our universe.
Today, while she napped, we quickly made these Sugar String baskets and Easter eggs………
FIRST
We blew up balloons……
and filled them with candy. . . .
