I wonder
by Bella Woodard
practicing,
and,
practicing,
for the right time,
when will i get,
first,
place,
in,
state,
playing
We’re trying so hard,
to beat the other team,
they’re really good,
but we could,
do better,
I can’t wait,
to see my face,
when I win,
first
place.

I just found this poem sitting on the dining room table.
She wrote it a few months back.
And it brought tears to my eyes.
This past weekend my sweet Bella went to state in softball.
Nobody ever thought they’d make it to the championship game
But THEY DID.
They ended up playing 2 championship games (two because the opposing team had no losses.) Our girls won the first, and lost the second in the last minutes of the game by only 2 runs.
On paper, they won 2nd place in state out 65 teams.
In our hearts, they won 1st.
They will always be 1st.
Strong.
Beautiful.
Brave.
Long. live. softball.
May all of your dreams come true.
I love you Bella! Hold your head high! Go EXPRESS!!!! The train is coming through!
